During the healing process take care of your new tattoo like it was an Easter egg.
-
Your artist will have tips, so listen to their advice first. They’re the artist who knows how to care for their particular tattooing techniques the best, but here are a few basics.
Colored TATTOO:
-
Change the wrap every 3-4 hours.
-
When changing the wrap, it is very important to wash your hands first. Wash area gently, but well, removing any blood or ointment. Use a mild soap and lukewarm water using only your fingers.
-
Dab dry with kitchen towel. DO NOT RUB. No rubbing until tattoo is completely healed. After dabbing dry apply a thin layer of Bepanthen cream evenly across your tattoo and re-wrap your tattoo with cling film. (available in food stores)
-
Repeat this process for two to three days.
-
When the wrapping process is done, begin applying a VERY THIN film of Bepanthen as often as 3-4 times a day in order to keep your tattoo moist. It is very IMPORTANT that your tattoo does not appear wet and gooey from the ointment.

Your tattoo should peel like a sunburn. If a scab should form it is very important not to pick or tamper with it. It will flake off naturally in several days. Patience.
-
ALWAYS keep your tattoo clean. DO NOT soak in a tub, jacuzzi or pool.
-
Your tattoo MUST be protected from the sun while it is healing. After the tattoo is healed we recommend the use of a good sun block.
